Opportunity for an experienced Technical Buyer to join an established global manufacturer.
The Technical Buyer will work as part of a Purchasing Team and will be responsible for sourcing fabricated and machined parts from a UK Supply Base. The Technical Buyer must be able to read technical drawings, specifications and BOMs.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Manage the procurement process for the supply of fabricated and machined parts
- Negotiate with Suppliers to achieve the best pricing, delivery and quality
- Negotiate, execute and monitor contractual agreements with suppliers
- Build strong working relationships with Suppliers and work closely with them to ensure SLAs are achieved
- Source new Suppliers and carry out due diligence and negotiate terms
- Ensure all materials are delivered on-time
- Request RFQs for bid work
- Build relationships with Colleagues across the business
- Support Supplier Quality in Supplier-related non-conformance
Knowledge and experience required for the role:
- Experience working in a similar purchasing/Buyer role within a manufacturing engineering organisation
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret BOMs
- Fantastic negotiation skills and can build strong working relationships with Suppliers and Colleagues
- Commercial and financial awareness
- Competent using ERP/MRP systems
- Can work on own initiative and prioritise workload
- Strong organisational and planning skills
This role will be an on-site role for the initial training period (up to 3 months) and will then become hybrid
