Scottish Engineering Awards 2016
This year's Scottish Engineering Awards Dinner was held on 12th May at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow, celebrating the continuing excellence in manufacturing engineering throughout Scotland. The event, was opened by John Howie, the industry body’s current President, who recognised that whilst this had not been a particularly easy year for most of their members, the evening’s award winners were to be congratulated for “excelling in difficult circumstances”. Delegates, from a wide range of disciplines across the Scottish manufacturing engineering industry enjoyed keynote speech from Vice-Admiral Simon Lister, CB, OBE, FREng, and entertainment from Peter C Brown. Scottish Engineering/Hammermen Award Each year, Scottish Engineering, in association with the Incorporation of Hammermen, recognises a young engineer who has led a project that benefited their company and the industry in general.
