Our client is an established but growing packhouse within the soft fruits industry who offers a challenging and rewarding environment to work in, where you can develop your skills and create a lifelong career.
The company is based near in Blairgowrie, which is a 20-minute drive from Forfar and Dundee.
Salary: £10-£12 per hour.
As a Floor Manager / Machine Operator you will be responsible for ensuring that site machinery is safe, fit for purpose, and run efficiently complies within all health & safety requirements.
You will be accountable for the time taken on all change over's between products and film/label changes that do not exceed the standards.
Responsible for packaging checks to be completed customer specification before the production a run commences. Responsible for all staff to abide by health & safety, hygiene, and PPE regulations and responsible machine compliance documents and clean at the end of each day.
Experience / Knowledge.
- Prior experience leading a team within the food industry is required.
- Experience with of working with check weighers & metal detectors advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to use IT systems.
- Ability to lead, communicate and motivate a team.
- Be able to show initiative and good problem-solving skills.
- Presenting pre-determined operational reports during weekly management meetings.
- Good knowledge of basic food hygiene and health & safety principles
- Ability to communicate, understand and follow instructions and have good attention to detail.
