My client is looking to recruit a HR Advisor on a temporary basis to help them during a busy period. There is a strong possibility that this role could potentially go permanent for the right candidate, depending on the business needs.


This is a temporary post till the end of February working a 37.5 hour week however my client have flexibility around this and are open to a slightly shorter working week, with flexibility around start and finishing times.


Duties include but aren't limited to:



  • Act as first point of contact for HR queries, providing an advisory service to employees and managers on policy and employee relations issues

  • Advise line managers on procedures and processes in line with current legislation and policy to ensure adherence to contractual arrangements, legal compliance and good employment practice

  • Support managers in undertaking casework, including discipline, grievance and sickness absence ensuring legal compliance and adherence to relevant policies and procedures

  • Work in partnership with managers on performance management and informal resolution of performance, capability and conduct issues

  • Support staff resourcing through advice on recruitment and selection procedures and appropriate contractual arrangements

  • Ensure effective record keeping in relation to casework and HR records including implementation of processes and procedures

  • Support monitoring and evaluation of HR systems including audits of procedures and processes

  • Compile and analyse management information reports, identifying trends and action planning as required

  • Carry out research into a range of issues relating to the compliance with legal and good employment practice to support line managers in the resolution of day to day issues and casework.

  • Support the review, development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure continued compliance with employment legislation and best practice

  • Undertake work on key People and Development priority projects in line with departmental and strategic objectives

  • Liaise with Payroll to ensure staff are paid accurately, including collating and submitted all relevant payroll information to the Finance Team for processing


In order to be considered for this role candidates should have the following background and experience:



  • Previous experience in a similar role i.e. HR Advisor or HR Coordinator

  • Up-to-date knowledge of current law and legislation

  • Strong IT skills with experience of MS Office Excel and CRM systems

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
