Escape Recruitment are working with a fast-paced manufacturing organisation that due to growth and investment are looking to appoint a Buyer.


The Buyer will work as part of a busy Supply Chain Team and be responsible for purchasing all direct and indirect spend.


Responsibilities of the role will involve:



  • Ensuring procurement and delivery of raw materials, component parts and in-direct materials are delivered to site, on-time in full

  • Releasing new Purchase Orders based on MRP demands, lead times and forecast information on future demands

  • Working closely with Suppliers to resolve any issues relating to delivery, quality or costs

  • Working closely with colleagues in Production, Planning and Stores to ensure production continuity

  • Providing regular reports

  • Ensuring that internal systems are updated and maintained


Experience and knowledge for the role:



  • Experience of working in a similar role within a busy manufacturing environment

  • Experience of expediting and scheduling orders

  • A solver of problems who can react quickly to changes to forecast

  • Experience of working with a MRP system and strong Excel skills

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills - can work closely with internal colleagues and Suppliers

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
