Structural Inspector

Escape Recruitment are working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced Structural Inspector for a permanent role based at their manufacturing facility in Motherwell.

The position will involve the inspection and approval of fabricated structural components, investigation of potential defects, and supporting the evaluation of warranty returns. You will be required to read and interpret engineering drawings, work independently to make acceptance and rejection decisions, and liaise with welders, design teams, and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspection and approval of fabricated components and materials.

• Defect investigation, interpretation of findings, and decision-making.

• Evaluation of warranty return components in conjunction with engineering teams.

• Use of SAP (or similar systems) for quality management transactions.

• Support for continuous improvement projects and new product updates.

Essential Requirements:

• Time-served welder or fabricator (City & Guilds, HNC, Apprenticeship, or equivalent).

• Minimum three years' fabrication experience within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.

• Experience of quality inspection processes within a manufacturing setting.

• IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable:

• PCN Level 1 or 2 certification in NDT disciplines, particularly Ultrasonic Testing (UT).

• Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP systems.

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
