This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking business involved in the design and manufacture of highly engineered mechanical components used in demanding applications across global markets. You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive engineering team where innovation, precision, and quality are key.
What you'll be doing:

Collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure project specifications, timelines and technical requirements are fully understood and delivered.
-
Producing detailed engineering documentation including manufacturing drawings, calculations, specifications, and procedural documentation.
-
Taking ownership of your design work and contributing to peer reviews by checking and validating colleagues' drawings and calculations.
-
Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their development through knowledge sharing and training.
-
Providing technical input and solutions throughout all stages of the design process, from concept to manufacture.
-
Attending cross-functional meetings, training sessions, site visits, and audits as required to support the wider engineering and business objectives.
-
Continuously reviewing your performance and contributing to process improvements, ensuring project milestones are met and efficiencies are achieved.
-
Working additional hours when required to avoid project delays or missed targets.
-
Maintaining and developing professional registration, working towards IEng or CEng status within two years of joining the company.
What we're looking for:
-
A degree-qualified Design Engineer with at least two years' experience in a manufacturing environment using CAD.
-
Proficiency in 2D drafting, 3D modelling, and experience using FEA tools such as ANSYS.
-
A good understanding of engineering standards, quality systems (e.g. ISO9001), and design practices in a regulated industry.
-
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design for manufacture principles.
-
Experience designing mechanical components or systems to industry standards (e.g. API/ASME) would be advantageous, but not essential.
-
Ability to manage your workload independently while also working collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
-
Strong attention to detail and a creative approach to solving technical challenges.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further their career in a supportive environment, working on technically interesting products that have real-world impact.
