At Escape, we want to make sure you have all the information and advice you need so if you have any other questions, please get in touch.

Holidays

What’s the email address for holiday requests/queries?

holidays@escaperecruitment.com

What holidays am I entitled to?

Worker's statutory paid holiday entitlement is 28 days per annum for a worker working a five-day week. The entitlement for part-time workers is calculated on a pro-rata basis and some of our clients will provide a higher level of holidays per year. Your recruiter will advise you on your specific holiday entitlement.

For more information download our guide to calculating your holiday entitlement.

How do I request a holiday?

You can download our holiday request form and guide to requesting holidays however, please be aware, not all our clients work the same way and your recruiter will confirm the process that applies to your particular assignment.

What happens if I don't use my holiday pay before the end of my assignment?

You will receive any unused holiday entitlement pay you have accrued throughout the year in your final pay.

How can I see how much holiday pay I have accrued?

This information is shown on every payslip. For more information, download our guide to understanding your payslip.

How does holiday accrual work?

Download our guide to holiday accrual.

Timesheets

Not all our clients work the same way, your recruiter will advise you on the process for completing and submitting your timesheets.

If you are on an assignment where you are working with our paper-based timesheets, you can download a copy here and read our guide to completing your timesheet.

What’s the email address to send timesheets to:

timesheets@escaperecruitment.com

What happens if I miss the timesheet deadline?

Unfortunately this means you will receive your pay the following week.

Absence/Sickness

What do I do if I am going to be late/absent during my assignment?

You should get in touch with your recruiter as soon as possible or at least within 1 hour of the start of your shift or earlier where possible. If you are unable to contact your recruiter you should inform your line manager and then Escape as soon as you can thereafter.

Not all our clients work the same way, your recruiter will advise you if there is a different process you need to be aware of for your assignment.

How do I self-certificate?

For periods of sickness absence up to 7 days, PAYE temporary workers may "self-certificate" by completing and submitting the HRMC self-certification form. Sickness claims beyond 7 days must be accompanied by acceptable medical evidence. For example, a Statement of Fitness for Work or ‘fit note' from your doctor that says you ‘are not fit for work'. Get in touch with your recruiter if you require any further information.

Do I get paid if I am sick?

PAYE temporary workers may be eligible for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) provided that you meet the relevant statutory criteria. SSP is not paid for the first three days you're off. Further information on SSP is included in your contract with Escape and available at Directgov. You can also ask your consultant or email payroll@escaperecruitment.com if you require any further information.

Getting Paid

When do I get paid?

You will be paid either weekly or monthly as advised by your Escape recruiter.

  • Weekly = You’ll be paid every Friday, one week in arrears
  • Monthly = You’ll be paid the last Friday of each month

When do I receive my first weekly pay?

If working weekly, you will receive your pay for your first week of work at the end of week 2. For example:

  • Your first week’s work is Monday 1st to Friday 5th August.
  • You will receive your pay for this week on Friday 12th August.

Does Escape operate a week’s ‘lying time’?

Lying time would mean your first week/month’s pay is held until the end of your assignment. Escape does not operate this way.

How do I receive my payslip?

You will receive an email to set up an online account where you will be able to review your current and historic payslips along with any P60s issued while on assignment through Escape.  Your consultant will arrange the details with you before you start your assignment.
