Uniting for Inclusivity: Escape and Queen's Park Support Indepen-dance Scotland

12.04.2024

This weekend, 13th April, we're delighted to be sponsoring the Queen's Park Football Club v Inverness match at Hampden in support of an excellent charity called Indepen-dance (Scotland).

About Indepen-Dance

Based in Glasgow, Indepen-dance are a charity that supports hundreds of children and adults with physical and learning disabilities and helps them to express themselves through dance with weekly creative movement and dance classes throughout the year, where participants become lifelong members and join a thriving social network. They also provide bespoke professional training, career development and employment opportunities.

Our colleague, Mark Mackill has been to several of their shows and fundraising events, and can tell you "their choreography is incredible". They send groups of dancers all around the world to showcase their talents but just as importantly they have over 300 people attending classes across Glasgow and the West of Scotland every week.

How are Escape and Queen's Park supporting them?

This Saturday, thanks to Queen's Park FC, dancers and staff will be guests at the game with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Our partnership with Queen's Park is also helping the charity through a number of promotional avenues and mentoring including a full page spread in the match day programme, a video showcasing the charity and what it’s about, shown on the big screens at Hampden before the match and at half time, six places at pre-match hospitality auctioned off at a fundraiser last month, free tickets to as many dance club members, Indepen-dance staff, family, friends and carers as they want.

Additionally we have arranged with Queen's Park for one of the young people at Indepen-Dance, Dylan, who is a keen photographer, to shadow the club photographer at a future match in May.

We are proud to be supporting local community organisations dedicated to inclusivity and accessibility for all. Good luck to Queen's Park this weekend and we hope all the dancers and staff from Indepen-dance enjoy their day at the game!
