Escape Supply Chain has the pleasure of working exclusively with our client and supporting them in appointing an experienced Purchasing Lead.
The Purchasing Lead will mentor and develop a team of Buyers to achieve their business and personal goals, support them in managing the daily workload, and be the point of contact for any escalation issues.
Other responsibilities of the role will include:
- Identifying savings opportunities within the category spend
- Build strong working relationships with Supplier to achieve best pricing
- Manage ad hoc sourcing requests, understand requirements, source suitable options and negotiate best pricing
- Strategic activity to maximise profitability and minimise supply or stocking risks
- Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement to drive team performance
- Identify areas to improve processes and procedures to improve the effectiveness of the team
- Work closely and build relationships with Stakeholders - colleagues, suppliers and customers and put them at the heart of everything
Experience and knowledge for the role:
- Proven track record of working in a similar purchasing or procurement role
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strategically and commercially focused
- Hands-on individual who isn't afraid to get stuck in with the day-to-day
- Focussed on continuous improvement
- Not afraid to challenge the Status Quo
