Escape Recruitment's client, a leading manufacturing company based in North Lanarkshire, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimise manufacturing processes across their business. Our client is committed to delivering high-quality products while prioritising employee safety and well-being.

As the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, quality, and safety within our manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead a team of professionals and ensure seamless coordination between various departments. The Role

  • Champion a culture of health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a safe working environment.
  • Oversee manufacturing orders using AX Dynamics MRP to ensure timely delivery and efficient assembly line operations.
  • Utilise Lean Manufacturing principles to optimise production processes and minimise costs.
  • Develop and implement training programmes to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions to recruit apprentices and support workforce development initiatives.
  • Lead production meetings and actively participate in management meetings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage team schedules, including overtime activities and wage reviews.
  • Conduct disciplinary proceedings when necessary, maintaining fairness and adherence to company policies.

The Candidate

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Proven track record of driving change in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in machine shop operations is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong background in production management, with a focus on meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Proficient in personnel management practices and team leadership.
