Escape is working with a well-established client who needs a Buying Assistant to hit the ground running and support their busy Purchasing Team for a 6-month maternity cover.
You don't need loads of experience, just a background in purchasing or supply chain support, a proactive mindset and a willingness to get stuck in and learn fast.
What you'll be doing:
- Requesting quotes from approved suppliers and negotiating prices
- Raising purchase orders for materials and services
- Updating delivery dates and pricing in the ERP system
- Working with colleagues to sort out any material supply issues
- Building solid relationships with suppliers to keep things moving
- Keeping the vendor database and ERP records up to date
What we're looking for:
- Some experience working in a Purchasing or Buying team
- Strong attention to detail and able to juggle tasks effectively
- Comfortable working with numbers and data
- Confident communicator - can build relationships with suppliers and colleagues
- A practical problem solver who doesn't shy away from a challenge
- Flexible and happy to adapt to changing priorities
