Packaging Technologist
Location: Lanarkshire (hybrid working)
Salary: £45,000 (DOE - negotiable)
Here's a chance to shape packaging for premium drinks in a growing, ambitious business. We're looking for a Packaging Technologist who can turn ideas into reality, from bulk production runs to small, limited-edition releases. Most of your work will be on secondary packaging so think labels, cartons, boxes, corrugate, but you'll also support wider packaging projects where needed.
You'll work closely with the Project Manager, Production and Marketing as well as suppliers, design agencies and teams across the business to make sure projects are practical, compliant, sustainable and deliver real impact. If you like juggling multiple projects, solving problems and seeing your work on shelves worldwide, this could be the role for you.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead packaging development on new products and brand projects
- Solve production challenges and drive efficiency improvements
- Work with suppliers on cost savings, material choices and waste reduction
- Manage artwork and labelling to keep everything legally and commercially sound
- Deliver both high-volume projects and small, bespoke premium runs
- Help push sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement
Key skills:
- Experienced in packaging development (FMCG, drinks, or similar)
- Confident with secondary packaging (labels, cartons, boxes, corrugate)
- Knowledge of materials, equipment and production processes
- Compliance savvy, including international labelling standards
- Highly organised, collaborative and thrives on juggling multiple priorities
- Bonus points if you have sustainability experience
Other company benefits:
- 7% pension and discretionary annual bonus
- Hybrid working, with early finish at 1pm Fridays
- Vouchers, healthcare discounts and wellbeing programme
- Career progression in a business that's performing strongly
