Escape Recruitment is working with an established engineering business in Dunfermline to recruit a Quotation / Estimation Engineer. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and commercial activity and is key to supporting the business in producing accurate, competitive quotations for customers.
You will be responsible for building cost estimates, developing pricing proposals and supporting the wider sales and delivery teams with timely and well-structured commercial information.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare technical and commercial quotations for customer enquiries

Develop cost estimates covering materials, labour, overheads and margins

Work with engineering and operations teams to understand scope and technical requirements

Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and lead time information

Support the review and approval of quotations prior to issue

Maintain estimating tools, cost models and pricing data

Identify risks, assumptions and commercial considerations within quotations

Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and templates

Maintain accurate records of quotations and opportunities in internal systems

Provide estimating support for project variations and change requests
What We're Looking For

Experience in estimating, quotations, proposals or cost engineering within an engineering or manufacturing environment

Strong numerical and analytical skills with good attention to detail

Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into clear commercial outputs

Comfortable working with cross-functional teams

Background in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred

Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office

Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
