Health, Safety & Compliance Manager

Escape Recruitment is working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit a Health, Safety & Compliance Manager for their site in Ayrshire.
This is a standalone role offering the opportunity to take ownership of health, safety, environmental and compliance activities across a busy manufacturing operation.
The position would suit either an experienced Health & Safety Manager or a Senior Health & Safety Advisor looking to take the next step into a management role.
Reporting directly into senior site leadership, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, supporting audits, driving continuous improvement and promoting a positive safety culture throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct and review risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
- Manage COSHH assessments and safety documentation
- Oversee permit to work systems and contractor compliance
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Monitor environmental compliance activities
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and support compliance reporting
- Produce monthly EHS reports for senior leadership
- Support sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards
What We're Looking For
- NEBOSH Certificate or higher qualification
- Previous Health & Safety experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, production, recycling or processing environments
- Experience conducting audits and managing compliance activities
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Familiarity with COSHH, DSEAR, risk assessments and incident investigations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong administrative and reporting capabilities
- Ability to work autonomously and influence at all levels
