Description

Are you an experienced engineering professional ready to take the next step into leadership? We're recruiting for an Engineering Team Leader on a dayshift role to join a well-established manufacturing business where you'll play a key role in driving reliability, leading maintenance activities and developing a high-performing engineering team.

This is a hands-on leadership position, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing people management with technical problem solving in a fast-paced production environment.

The Role

As Engineering Team Leader, you'll coordinate daily engineering activities, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. Working closely with production and planning teams, you'll prioritise workloads, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of engineers across planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules and allocate engineering resources effectively.
  • Ensure equipment breakdowns are managed efficiently to minimise production downtime.
  • Drive high standards of health, safety and engineering compliance.
  • Monitor maintenance performance through KPIs and CMMS systems.
  • Coach and develop engineers, promoting a positive and engaged team culture.
  • Work closely with production, planning and other departments to improve asset reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support site improvement projects.

About You

We're looking for someone who can combine strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership and communication skills.

You'll ideally have:

  • HNC, ONC or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.(Electrical bias or multiskilled)
  • Previous experience leading or supervising engineers within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of planned and preventative maintenance.
  • Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and make decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
