Warehouse & Packing Operative
Location: Leith
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Shifts: Rotating early and back shifts, with nightshift one week in five:

Early: 6am to 2pm

Back: 2pm to 10pm

Night: 10pm to 6am
Escape Recruitment is recruiting a Warehouse & Packing Operative on behalf of our client in Edinburgh. Following investment in modern automated packing equipment, they are expanding their multi-skilled operations team.
Working within a production and warehouse environment operating 24 hours a day, five days a week, you will combine packing machine operation, order picking and counterbalance forklift duties.
The role

Operate automated packing equipment, handling products upto 25kg.

Pick orders and load vehicles accurately and safely.

Operate a counterbalance forklift and other materials handling equipment (if you have a valid forklift licence).

Rotate stock and maintain accurate production and warehouse records.

Follow health and safety and product handling procedures.

Report equipment faults promptly to support maintenance and minimise downtime.

Maintain a clean working environment through a clean-as-you-go approach.

Work towards operational targets and contribute to continuous improvement.

Complete relevant training and support other duties within your capabilities.
What we're looking for

Previous experience in production and/or warehousing.

A valid counterbalance forklift licence and experience operating a counterbalance forklift would be desirable but not required.

Experience operating high-speed packaging lines would be advantageous.

Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills.

A reliable, flexible team player with a willingness to learn.

The ability to undertake regular lifting of 12kg to 25kg and periods of standing lasting up to four hours.

Availability to work the rotating shift pattern, including nightshift one week in five.
