Our established manufacturing client is looking to appoint an experienced Purchasing & Materials Manager.
The Purchasing & Materials Manager will lead and mentor the Purchasing and Inventory Teams to ensure the supply of materials and services to the business, fostering a positive team culture.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Supporting the purchasing team to source, order and manage components and materials
- Work closely with Suppliers to manage SLA's and on-time delivery
- Maintain accurate stock levels of inventory and consigned stock
- Ensuring the store's area is well organised and efficient
- Oversee material flow to maintain optimal inventory levels that support on-time customer delivery
- Work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure accurate planning and highlight any supply issues
- Lead materials management projects
- Determine and drive continuous improvement projects
- Manage the QMS systems
Knowledge and experience required for the role:
- Experience in leading and developing successful Supply Chain Teams (purchasing, inventory and warehousing)
- Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments
- Experience of using ERP/MRP systems, teamed with Excel Skills
- Experience of working in a medical-accredited environment would be highly advantageous
- Team player who will build strong working relationships with colleagues to support the growth and profitability of the business
- Passion for continuous improvement and projects
