Escape Recruitment's client, a leading engineering and manufacturing business based in West Lothian, is seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to join their Operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with strong mechanical and project management experience to take ownership of key plant and equipment initiatives, driving continuous improvement and ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will:

Provide innovative technical solutions to manufacturing challenges through the specification, sourcing, and installation of plant equipment.

Design special purpose machinery or modifications to existing systems where required.

Manage engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

Prepare cost and efficiency assessments for new or replacement machinery and make recommendations.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including Health & Safety legislation and internal company procedures.

Collaborate closely with maintenance, production, and safety teams to solve day-to-day engineering issues.

Visit supplier sites and other company locations as required.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives across cost, quality, and safety.
About You
You will ideally hold:

A degree in Engineering or an equivalent professional qualification.

Proven experience in a heavy engineering or manufacturing environment, with a strong mechanical bias.

Proficiency in CAD design.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Knowledge of UK and international engineering standards.

Awareness of Safety of Machinery Regulations and CE marking processes.
-
Experience with facilities management and project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2) would be advantageous.
