Want to work more closely with the people behind the procurement?
You know Public Sector Procurement. But perhaps your next move is about having more opportunity to shape decisions, build relationships and see what happens after a contract is awarded.
Based at Perth College UHI, you will work directly with the people who use the goods, services and facilities you help procure. You will get to understand their challenges, contribute your expertise and see how your work supports the college.
Work with stakeholders to shape the approach
You will build relationships with colleagues across the college, from senior leaders to the teams delivering its services. Working together, you will develop procurement plans and category strategies that reflect the college's needs.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions, explore options and influence decisions, with a clear understanding of who will benefit and why.
Enjoy variety across the institution
Your portfolio will span different departments, projects and procurement categories. That could mean working with IT on technology requirements, supporting professional services procurement or helping estates colleagues deliver a refurbishment.
See your decisions put into practice
Working within the college brings you closer to the results. You will see how procurement supports teaching spaces, facilities and services, while helping colleagues put the institution's sustainability and environmental commitments into practice.
It is an opportunity to connect your Public Sector Procurement expertise with the everyday work of an organisation supporting learners and its local community.
Take ownership and develop others
This is a standalone role where you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, influence decisions and make an impact. You will also support and develop one colleague, helping them build their skills and confidence. Previous people management experience isn't essential, making this a good opportunity if you are ready to take your first step into leadership.
You will also be part of the wider procurement community, connecting with colleagues across Scotland to share ideas, discuss challenges and support your professional development.
What you will bring
You must have Public Sector Procurement experience, including practical experience of end-to-end tendering, contract negotiation and contract management.
Working arrangements
A nine-day hybrid fortnight.
